North Bay’s Own Mobile Dental Hygienist
Does life seem to keep you out of the dentist’s office? Whether it is your work schedule, anxiety, accessibility challenges, or the challenge of getting all the kids to sit still long enough for their dental cleaning – there are plenty of reasons why you might avoid booking that dentist appointment – but Smiles With Emilie was created to alleviate all of that stress.
I truly believe oral care is self-care. I travel throughout North Bay (Ontario) and the surrounding areas to deliver shame-free dental care in homes and long-term care facilities.
While mobile dental care is quite common in Southern Ontario, there is a significant gap in accessibility to dental care in Northern Ontario.
As a practicing dental hygienist of 10+ years, I am here to fill that gap!
You are unique and so is your mouth. This means all preventative dental care services, home care plans for after our visit and dental professional referrals are unique to you and your needs.
Hi, I’m Emilie!
How it Works:
As a mobile dental hygienist, I work independently and come straight to your home (or long-term care facility). The magic of mobile dental hygiene is that it makes oral and dental care more accessible and convenient than traditional dental care.
I know how stressful a visit to the dentist can be, and I am working hard to break down these barriers.
While I bring all of my tools with me, everything else is yours. You are welcome to use your pillows, blankets, and even your own recliner! No waiting room. No dental office smell. Just me, you, and maybe even your furry family members or the kiddos, making sure your teeth are taken care of right in your home.
So, you might be thinking…MOBILE dental hygienist?! How does that work?!
(aka a mobile dental hygienist’s most frequently asked questions…answered!)
-
Yes! I can assure enhanced safety as I must follow strict sterilization protocols with my mobile equipment as per the Ontario Dental Hygienists' Association (ODHA).
-
Yes! My services should be covered by most comprehensive health benefit plans. If you do not have insurance, please check out my resources page to learn about some funding opportunities you might be able to tap into.

While it is recommended to see a dentist annually, it does not need to be before your mobile dental cleaning.
Part of our appointment will involve an assessment of your overall oral health, and if I see anything that is a cause for concern, I will write you a referral to see a dentist or dental surgeon. If, by chance, I think you might have a cavity, I do also have products available that can ‘arrest’ or stop it from getting any worse until you can book that visit with the dentist. -
No. Dental x-rays are used for diagnostic purposes which is beyond the scope of practice of a dental hygienist. With that said, if I see anything concerning which would benefit from an x-ray, I will happily refer you to a local dentist’s office.

Not currently. My hope is to create that link between individuals who lack accessibility to dental care, and our local dental offices.
